Summer holidays in the Nock Mountains

Leave the stuffy grey of the cities behind you and spend your holidays in summer on the Hochrindl, kilometre for kilometre away from all hustle and bustle. At 1,600 metres in the Carinthian Nock Mountains, the tranquillity of nature is tangible and the offer fantastic. Right on the doorstep of your mountain chalet you will find hiking trails. Hike to the White Cross or even to the Großer and Kleiner Speikkofel, to the Seebachern or along the family-friendly alpine hiking trail “Lichtenegger”. Children are best motivated with adventure trails and can follow the traces of Zirbenzapfi or König Waldgeist with their parents. A stop at the playground must of course not be missing! A fascinating hiking destination is also the Ursula spring deep in the coniferous forest which is said to be a power place.

Go to Carinthia’s lake district

Carinthia would not be Carinthia without its lakes. The crystal-clear water, the lidos and the many water sports possibilities attract summer holidaymakers and bathers from near and far. In about 45 minutes you will reach the Lake Wörthersee, Carinthia’s biggest lake, from our mountain chalets. Not far away, other lakes such as Lake Ossiacher See or Faaker See will invite you to enjoy water sports or swimming in pleasant temperatures. But you do not necessarily have to go far to find lakes near the Hochrindl: With Lake Goggausee and Lake Flatschacher See you will find two idyllic lakes about 20 kilometres from your mountain chalet. Sirnitz will also surprise you with a natural swimming pond which will cool you down after a hike. And if you simply want to relax then the heated infinity pool in our chalet village will be at your disposal anytime. With this distant view you can relax best in the Nock Mountains.

Experiences with the family

Children really blossom in the fresh mountain air! Not only various playgrounds but also interactive stations with tricky riddles will await them. Getting to know the alpine lifestyle from an insider perspective will also be a must-do: During the guided hike “Hiasl Almmatura” not only little hikers can learn something: Milking wooden cows, nailing and burning Swiss pine wood requires quite some skill! To crown the educational tour, culinary rewards in the form of organic specialities will of course await you. The “Almmatura” takes place every Wednesday and Friday at 10.00 a.m.

Golf in Carinthia, Slovenia and Italy

Not only hikers’ and water sportsmen’s hearts will beat faster in Carinthia, but also golfers’. The nearest dreamlike golf courses are already located in Bad Kleinkirchheim and Moosburg/Pörtschach. Thanks to the sunny climate the golf season begins early in the year and lasts until autumn. You can also try out further golf courses and get to know the most beautiful golf courses in the neighbouring Slovenia and Italy.
